I have not worn them a lot yet, but the leather seems like it will soften and fit to your calve shape with time.

You can wear them with absolutely everything - jeans, trousers, skirts, dresses. If you know your european size,then you should dismiss the american sizing. Normally I wear US size 7.5 and if I had gotten these boots according american sizing they would had been too big for me. They do feel a tiny bit narrow, but not as much as I would have to return them.
