Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My dog, a 135-pound Irish wolfhound, is quite cautious about unfamiliar situations, so I expected him to need a lot of persuasion to try this step. Instead, without a thought, he used it to easily enter my SUV. Perfect!
The only negative is that it is such a tight fit into the receiver that it is a bit difficult to install.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I've noticed that the latest catalog showing this item doesn't even mention the hitch size. My SUV has a standard 2 inch hitch and the aluminum step insert doesn't fit. It's only about 1/18th of an inch difference, so I've asked a friend to see if he can shave the metal down to fit. If not, I'll have to return it.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an absolutely great idea that is somewhat poorly executed. I have a lab/doberman mix (110 lbs) and as she has gotten older getting into the SUV has gotten more difficult. She took one look at this and knew what to do, but slipped off the side. There needs to be another model that is about 4 inches wider and say, 3 inches longer. The current size is for rat dogs.
