The pockets are deep and have an accessible zipper.I wear a size 14 and was leery about buying a size L (size 12-14) since I thought with jeans the chaps would be too small. So I got an XL which are a bit too big and I will have to take in the waist. There is plenty of length, though, and I will have to chop off a couple of inches. Not a problem for me, since I'm 5'10" and have a difficult time finding a proper length. My advice: Buy them! A great deal.
