No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I was looking for a basic item to contain the paperclips on my desk. This item was such a dissapointment. It was hard to assemble, and when the metalic discs are snapped together, it slides around in the wooden base. Very odd. The magnet was so weak, it would not even hold 4 paperclips. No wonder this product was on clearance. Don't waste your money.
