I almost always wear Wellinton style boots for hunting. For some reason I prefer them over lace-ups. These were pretty much what the picture shows, but I knew what to expect as I've had similar boots for years. Although these won't get any significant use until fall, they feel very good on my feet when I tried them on. They are relatively lightweight and have some sort of reinforcement in the shin area which I am sure will come in handy. My last pair of boots also had a membrane to waterproof which worked great. That is until the canvass uppers started to wear and I ripped some gashes in them crossing barbed wire fences. The uppers on these feel more like cordura or a similar material and look like they will hold up a better.
