I purchased the L/XL size, but it's still too tight around the ears. Moreover, there is a ton of extra loose fabric on the top of the hat -- if you pull the beanie down snug onto your head, it covers your eyes. You can roll it up once or twice, but I don't think it was designed to be worn that way.
On the plus side, the material the hat is made from a highly durable and technical fabric. If you have a big gourd or a lot of hair, this hat might be a great running cap for you. My advice -- try it on first.
