Comfortable, sturdy and supportive shoes By thejennybug from McLean, VA on 11/23/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these shoes for doing outdoor research on rainy days in the mud. I found them to be super comfy and require no break-in. I haven't tested them in dounpours or in shallow streams but in light rain they were waterproof. Be ware of sizes! They are in UK sizing! I had to order two pairs to find the right fit for me. They are not as nice looking as I was hoping - they stand out in jeans or casual wear due to the light blue sides more than my old, sturdy all brown leather hikers do but for the price they are good.
I didn't even have to break these in! By Loulabelle from Tampa, FL on 08/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes were comfy right out of the box- no break in time necessary. I ordered my regular size and they are plenty big with light/mid-weight wool socks. Not sure about the waterproof qualities yet- will test them out in Oregon later this month.
By sdizzle from Minneapolis, MN on 07/30/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these to do some hiking on a recent vacation to New Zealand, they were comfortable and stable in the wet brush. I ordered a size down as recommended and they still felt a little big, but not sure if another half size down would have been too small.
