Actually, I would prefer just a little lighter gray, true black being a second choice. I purchased two several months ago, burned a hole in one so purchased two more. The elastic seems a little better in the first ones I bought (made in Vietnam) than the second ones (made in Philippines), but no real complaint. Pockets could be a little deeper or less slanted so things don't fall out when seated.
