Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The only reason I gave this jacket a low rating is because the zipper is on the women's side (left) and not the men's (right) side. The jacket also fits a little loose and is not true to size. So it would work OK as a thin shell worn with layers under it. Other than that, the materials seem sturdy and it makes a great light-weight, warm shell. It's a great deal if you don't mind the zipper or you can give it to your wife like I did.
