This is a mostly great jacket. Its lightweight, breathable with vented pit zips and pockets. Where the jacket stayed covered, I stayed dry.
However, while coming down Mt. Washington in NH on one of its notoriously blustery and rainy days I was wishing for some sort of drawstring on the hood to keep it from billowing and blowing off my head. It was a constant battle to attempt to keep my head dry and covered. This is the only, but rather big drawback that I found.
lightweight, effective, good features

Comments: Use XXL size for quickly putting over PFD during breaks on kayak trips - great emergency gear as well

Comments: Really happy when I put it on--very lightweight and it also had pit zips! I also like the nylon ripstop fabric. I believe that this jacket will last a long time--I can always use a DWR finish if the waterproofing wears off.
