They are pretty stiff but durable and stable for running over snow fields. They don't fit my feet that great. They are not very cushiony either. If they fit they would have done what I bought them for. The sole rubber is too hard.

Perhaps, they just need breaking in? Didn't have the time to do this, nor the inclination. Due to the waterproof nature of this shoe, was hoping this would work out. I tend to have pretty sensitive feet...so it could be my problem, too.

Of my first pair, the black band on the outer side of the right shoe would bend in and press the foot hard so it hurt when you walk. It is definitely a defect to me. The second pair has the same problem, but not as bad. The shoes are made of gore-tex and supposed to be good in wet weather, but I haven't tested this out yet.
