This is great for hot weather, but I would imagine you should wash this in cold water gentle cycle to get the longest life out of it.
The shirt has a faint, almost silklike gloss to it and it looks very expensive (which it was!) The one negative for me is that I wish I would have gotten an XL, it seems the European shirts are cut a little tighter in the shoulders than American brands.
If you are between a L and XL, go larger with this shirt.
