Ok but the MS Sting 45 is MUCH better By ULLR - Ski God from Philly on 08/29/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Strong Zippers Cons: Not Enough Compartments Best Uses: Airline Travel, Camping, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack would be ok for a day hike or a day in the backcountry when you might want to have a pack you could hook your skis into. The top part doesn't detach like it does with the MS Sting 45. You'd be hard pressed to put a tent, sleeping bag (if you could get those in) and much else in it. It would be good for one day out climbing, hiking, skiing or out in the back country and it is a good pack but if you are going to buy just one, go with the MountainSmith Sting 45. It's got much more room, doesn’t weight much more and is just a better all around pack.

Very comfortable. It's a midsize bag so needed to hang sleeping bag off the back on a 4 day hike - was easy to do as there are plenty of attachment points on bag. Winter gear setup is helpful too.

I've only worn it to get groceries on my bike. This thing is sweet. They put alot of thought into it's design. The hip strap is good. I usually hate those and slash them off my packs, but this one is comfy. Lots of straps and pockets of all sort. Looking forward to hitting the trail with it. I'd give it five stars except I haven't used it on the trail yet.PS the tag on the pack says "free 1 year membership to [@]" but the link on the tag is 404 (dead). I emailed MountainSmith about that, but haven't gotten a reply yet.
