By Raffpap from Medical Lake, WA on 07/09/2008 Pros: Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Comments: A quality traditional fly reel that compares favorably to the Sage 1201 and Okuma Sierra series. It looks and feels like a quality product. I used it on a lake today for the first time and found that is reels very smoothly. The drag is fully functional and was put to the test by a couple 21-24" rainbows, with both taking several feet of line. The drag operated flawlessly. I can't yet speak for durability but like I said, it compares favorably to my Sage 1201s and Okuma Sierra reels that I've had for several years. This seems like a good reel for trout in both lakes and rivers, however, I don't know that I'd use it for hard-charging salmon and steelhead.
