Great price, great jacket By Val Di from Upstate NY on 09/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Top layer for walking Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the new Gore-Tex fabric. Heavier and more water resistant. Don't feel damp when in heavy rain. I wanted the jacket to travel with as well as walk in all kinds of weather BUT the face and hood protection come up very high on the face and cannot be easily folded out of the way when you don't need them. I am a petite 10/12 and found the medium size just right for layering. A tall person might find it too short.
By happy in CA from Mountain View, CA on 09/06/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Not sure if I can live without the hand pockets. The hot orange color is very bright- not muted like what it looked like for me on the website. Think construction zone orange. Besides the lack of hand pockets and the bright color, it is exactly what I was looking for.
By Meo from Stockbridge, MA on 08/10/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Not so light, Rustling Best Uses: Backcountry, Freestyle Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Traveling, Walking in the rain Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took the Jacket to traveling and walked freely and comfortably in the rain as well as in chilly mornings. The small plastic straps on the cuffs for snapping or unsnapping and the malleable wire of the hood are efficient in the rain. Gore-Tex XCR is more rustling, harder, and heavier than Gore-Tex which I have.
