I used these shoes for any ocean activity. Reef fishing, deep sea fishing, kayaking. The shoes are wonderful.We got pounded is 7-ft choppy seas while fishing and I was the only one who was not slipping all over the deck.
You do have to adjust ALL the straps when you first get the shoes -- from the toes to the top. Start at the toe. You have to pull HARD on the straps to get them to adjust initially. Once you do that, the shoes is very easy to put on and get off. Happy trails and tight lines!
