Second, the lateral stability helps prevent any injuries from turned ankles, etc
Walking in them may feel more like a ski boot since they dont flex as much as other boots ive owned i discovered that this is an ingenious design concept because of how the body moves while wading. excellent stability and you don't get sore ankles or shins from standing crooked on rocks. provides a stable platform and is excellent for climbing super-steep banks we encounter on our steelhead rivers. fished in them for 8 hours at a time with no fatigue. great boot.
