About Teva Sandals

By land or sea, Teva sandals can take your feet where they’ve never gone before thanks to unbeatable comfort and performance features. Created by a river guide as a solution to his clients’ water-logged sneakers, Teva’s sporty sandals drain water and have rubber outsoles that grip slick riverbeds and rocky trails alike. Amphibious Teva sandals have adjustable nylon or leather straps plus an anatomic footbed that provides a comfortable, tailored fit that’s game for hiking, paddling, boating and any adventure near water. Thanks to their huge success with performance amphibious sandals, Teva now also offers a huge line of casual sandals for men, women and kids. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the name Teva is pronounced "teh-vah" (not "tee-vah"), which means "nature" in Hebrew.

Just from their looks, Teva sandals are a far cry from ordinary. Their high friction outsoles, tacky topsoles and sturdy demeanor actually started as a river guide’s solution to his clients’ soggy, water-logged sneakers. In 1984, his prototype splashed into the market, and soon after, Teva revolutionized river footwear with a sport sandal that could drain water, dry quickly and also tackle rugged river terrain. Over the last twenty years, Teva expanded its hybrid roots - from riverbed to rocky trail and city path - defying the limitations of sandals. The only downside is the footbed is plastic-like stuff which makes your foot sweat a bit on hot days. My Teva leather sandals are better in that regard.
