I finally ordered a 10.5 size boot in the chocolate & am very pleased. The boot fits beautifully & is not too tight in the calf. I normally wear a size 10 & probably could have ordered the 10 & had it fit properly. The size 10.5 however gives me a bit more extra toe space & allows for my wearing heavier tights or socks without discomfort due to crowding. I will not know how well the boot will wear, but it seems very well made. It is definitely a dress boot & not for wearing in salty, slushy conditions unless you want to mar the finish.

When ordering I was a little concerned about the heel height (being concerned about comfort as well as style), but I was happily surprised at how well they fit. Taryn Rose has a reputation for comfortable, ergonomic shoes and these are definitely that. They are also really great looking and the price was fantastic! I think I am going to order another pair in the chocolate!
