| Sperry Top-Sider shoes have been making waves since the first Authentic Original boat shoe made its debut in 1935. Their boat shoes have logged millions of miles of open ocean… and have been the shoe of choice for souls who ride the waves for work and play. Sperry also has a fine line of business casuals for those who make waves in urban settings. Sperry Top-Siders represent true Yankee ingenuity. The prototypes were modeled after Paul Sperry's dog paws, which navigated icy terrain in a sure-footed fashion. Today's design combines siped rubber outsoles for non-marking traction with advanced technical fabrics to keep out the watery elements. Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes are the official footwear of the U.S. Sailing Team, the Shimano Fishing Tour and a part of the U.S. Naval Academy's official uniform. Sewing there seemed insufficient to hold these together. Too bad. In the process of returning them now to STP.

Maybe I just got a bum pair. I also found that the straps chafed a bit on my pinky toe.

However, these shoes run narrow, especially across the top and the ball of the foot. I will have to give them to a friend who has the same size but a much more narrow foot than mine!
