By BC Fan from South Lake Tahoe on 03/03/2010 Pros: Great Flotation, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Mounted these with some Fritschi bindings. Great AT setup for Sierra backcountry. Climbs well and did well on the descents in difficult conditions. Images shared by: BC FanAngora Peak, South Lake Tahoe Tags: Using Product
Silvretta Pure Free Ride AT Bindings By Kevindow from Alaska on 02/22/2010 Pros: Easy Entry & Release, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have had Silvretta Pure bindings for several years and I love them. When my partners are getting blisters with other bindings I am blister free. The crampons for these bindings dig in far deeper than other brands. I got nervous about the possibility of broken toe pieces, so I wrote Silvretta for a spare, and they sent me a whole bag of spares. I have never needed to use one of the spares. I am a light skiier (150 lbs), but I have never had an issue with broken toe pieces using the bindings at the resort or in backcountry.
Best Lightweight BC Ski!!! By lawtalkinggirl from Alaska on 11/13/2009 Pros: Good Carving Ability, Good Grip, Great Flotation, Lightweight Best Uses: Downhill, Icy Conditions, Moguls, Powder Describe Yourself: Advanced Skier Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the lightest BC ski I could find. At only 6 pounds, mounted with Dynafit bindings with 3-buckle Dynafit boots the whole setup feels like skiing uphill on a cloud. Downhill they perform well too. Plenty fat for a lighter-weight skier, and I am happy to compromise on width to get a lighter ski for the ascent. I like that it is available in 165 cm - an extra 5 cm for a 170 cm ski adds weight and length that I don't necessarily need in the BC.
