Sorel

Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it’s not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1908 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel’s advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today’s active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.

I'm very happy with my purchase! It is usually very hard for me to find boots that fit and are comfortable. I wear them all day at work. I am a caretaker of standardbred race horses. I work in a very cold wet environment. I am up and down the barn all day its a very fast paced environment. and with washing horses and going in and outside all day I need a warm waterproof but lightweight boot.

These boots are great for days when there is a little snow, or slush and you don't want to deal with heavy tall boots. Great for wearing to and from work.

what I hoped for
By cold feet from Union, ME on 11/16/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Snow
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Gear Usage:
Cold Weather Living, Plowing on the tractor
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
It hasn't been cold enough to need these, but I am awaiting the blowing snow so that I can slip them on and fire up the tractor. They appear to have good attention to detail. My son has the nylon upper version, which would be fine but I wanted a one time purchase, something to last many future seasons and these appear to be right. The boot is bulky and stiffer than I anticipated but I haven't had winter boots in years and so I can't really compare them to anything except leather work boots.

Comments:
These boots worked very well for deer hunting in Northern Minnesota. Although temps were mostly above freezing this year, boots were comfortable on stand and walking through swamps proved that they are waterproof. The boots run large, but this isn't a bad thing if you want to wear extra socks when it really gets cold. The boots are very light and should be great for snow shoing.

looks a bit bulky and wide but fits and feels wonderful. Wish it laced up a bit higher and the inside top got wet from high snow getting inside, but all in all I'm very pleased with the boot. Recent snowstorm provided perfect testing conditions!

Comments:
Wore these boots today out at the 65 acre dog-park after two days of snow/sleet and they were great! While they are big and bulky, they offered the warmth, traction and waterproof protection I was looking for. I ordered 1/2 size up to accomodate bulky socks and shoe inserts and I still have a bit of slip in the heel. Probably could have gone true to size. You will look and feel like Nanuk of the North in these puppies, but they are exactly what I was looking for.
