Mountain Hardwear

When survival comes down to the durability and reliability of your gear - as it does for Mountain Hardwear’s sponsored athletes - Mountain Hardwear delivers... with products that battle the elements and ensure a safe return to the trailhead. In 1993, four people from outdoor gear industry leaders (including The North Face and Sierra Designs) came together with a common mission: "To become the number one, authentic outdoor equipment company in the world." Ninety days later Mountain Hardwear introduced the Exposure Parka and Sub Zero Jacket. These innovations (and many more) were so sparked by individual passion and experience that Mountain Hardwear quickly earned the trust of hikers, climbers and skiers... and won awards for its apparel, tents, sleeping bags and backpacks. Mountain Hardwear pioneered cutting edge technologies like Gore® Windstopper® fleece and Gore-Tex®XCR®, incorporating them into performance gear that functions as well as it looks and fits. A superlight tent for fast-packing minimalists, a subzero-rated down sleeping bag for serious alpinists, or a water-resistant soft shell for the weekend warriors, Mountain Hardwear has the hardware needed to survive the mountain. I normally wear a petite and these pants were not available in petite. A petite would have fit me better. Too long in length and crotch (not too bad). I am going to hem the pants for a better look. I love the pants otherwise.

Comments:
I've been complemented when wearing this jacket- I love the cuff sleeves, the secret inside pocket (will be great for travel) and the hood. I live in the Pacific NW, so it might be a little light for the coldest winter rainy days, but it's perfect for spring/summer/fall and with layering I can see it past the winter test.

Comments:
I got these pants because all the other reviews said how long they were. They were okay but still too short for my 5'10" frame. They are body skimming around the waist and butt and though I wish my stomach was flat, it is not and appeared even more pouchy in these pants that would probably look great on other body types. The quality and feel was terrific but I didn't like how I looked in them. I returned this item.

Comments:
This has quickly become my favorite all-use summer shirt. I've used it casually around town and out hiking and kayaking. It looks and feels great and I wear it more than the other two shirts (cotton, MH webster shirts) that I got in the same order. And of course, being synthetic it is quick to dry in all cases. However, while other reviewers have given it a thumbs up on breathability, I'm not so high on that myself...I put it on instead of a wicked T for a hot and humid Virginia AT dayhike and it performed more like a plastic bag (which, well, it kind of is). However, if hiking at 70-75 degrees, it was just fine and the dual stacked chest pocket (one zip, one open) is a nice feature. In all, it's a great shirt as long as you're not going to wear it into the 90s.
