By Walkin' fool from Hilly valley on 09/30/2008 Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Comments: Well, I see why these shoes are on sale. They fit SOOO wrong. I normally wear an 8.5 and moved up to a 9.5 since they run small, and they were still WAYYY too small. And the arch sits too far back. I wasn't at all impressed with my first experience with this brand. These will definitely be going back to Sierra Trading Post.
By Andy from Salem VA on 09/29/2008 Cons: Expensive, Low Quality Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The leather was really thin and one of the speed lace rings almost pulled clear through the leather. Maybe I just got a bad pair, but they seemed like a poorly made boot considering the price.
By S & S Chainsaw Art Carver from Branson ,MO on 09/29/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have owned alot of boots average 2 a year for the last 20+ years. Hiking boots are all I wear. I have not ran into a boot yet that have lasted 2 years to date under my everyday use.Average before these was 8-12months and I'd wear out the soles, or the soles would come loose. I walk 20+ miles a week. I never oiled these instead I simple tried them on and walked out of the store in them. I have put them on everyday since august 2006. The only reason I am replacing them are that I have walked the soles smooth, one has developed a hole. I paid twice as much as the go for now,and would pay that again. I would rec these to any hiker or anyone needing a good construction boot.

comfy, but rubber falls apart fast By lixy from san francisco on 09/28/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These are comfortable shoes, ggod for people with longer 2nd toes. They run small. I intentionally got mine looser than normal, for whole-day not-too-technical climbs, but even so: I wear a 38 or women’s 7.5 and I got these in 39.5 which is perfect for a comfortable fit; for more technical climbing I could go to 39, so still a size bigger than I’d normally wear (I tried both mens and womens, they all run small) They didn’t have the womens in my size, so I got the mens, which means that the heel digs into my achilles a bit). However, the biggest drawback is that after wearing only 5-6 times the rubber is already wearing off, and the rubber on the side is delaminating. I don't mind so much--for this price I’ll just resole them with the much stickier and better IMHO 5.10 rubber and/or just use them for crack climbing where a loose fit is ok!

This is the best approach shoe I've ever put on my foot. It lasted me for two years. Having taken it all around the world, I'll miss then dearly.
