It appears to be warm. It is very well made and very light weight. The hood is removable. I was torn between ordering a large or extra large, in the end I ordered extra large. I think it runs small,but I would not judge it solely on this review alone. I purchased the xlarge and it fits perfectly.

I returned the jacket.
It also had fur on the inside which shed on my shirt I was wearing

It is the coat I have been looking for. The fabric is very, very nice. I think it will wear well (from life experience) although it is new to me now. It fit my frame perfectly -- not too large or too small. I ordered the size that would fit the largest part of my body and found the fit to be just right everywhere. Since it is meant to be worn in cool weather, I tried it on over a light sweatshirt and it still fit right -- as I would normally wear it over a sweater and not just thin fabric. Although the bottom is not super narrow / a slight A-line / it hangs in a complimentary way and does not look large on the bottom compared to the top. It leaves a little room to function / sit / walk. I have been looking for the perfect coat and this one is the perfect coat for me. The coat also arrived in a couple of days. I have ordered once before and I got exactly what was stated in the description and thanks to the helpful addition of the customer reviews.

I think that it's great to wear over jeans/pants. Not sure about a skirt, as I don't wear them. This jacket would keep you very warm indeed, the faux fur feels wonderful! It truly is a good fit. The only down side I think would be is that where I live we don't have much of a winter so therefore I cannot wear it often enough!
