Boroloola Hammock by ABO Gear
By Cala from NC on 7/4/2008
Cons:
You feel like a taco
Best Uses:
Maybe for camping out
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments: This hammock was a great price, attractive and seemed well made. It did not work for us (and we've returned it), because of the way it closes in on you once you're in it. It's sort of like being the stuffing in a taco, or a caterpillar in a cocoon. It does not have the rod (usually wooden)at each end that most hammocks have these days that keep the hammock open and extended, so once you get in, the sides stretch back over you, making it hard to read or converse from it and a risk to anyone who's claustrophobic.

Pros:
Comfortable, Good Size
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments: Had to add a stick at each end because the fabric tended to sag and stretch.

Comments: this is what you would expect for the price. it would be nice if it had gear with it to hang it up. i didn't really like having to go out and buy rope and hardware.

Comments: Great hammock! nice sturdy fabric, easy to put up, and the stuff sack makes it easy to take anywhere you go. My kids fight over it, though they can both sit in it.
Gorgeous but too confining

Comments: I wanted this product to relax in the back yard, maybe read a book on a nice day. But without the wooden rods or separater bars that are on most hammocks, the sides of it just wrapped around me. Then I was pretty much confined to staring straight up since my view was mostly blocked by the sides of the hammock.

Pros:
Comfortable, Good Size
Cons:
Eyelet protectors weak
Best Uses:
Backyard, Families, Relaxation
Describe Yourself:
Bargain Hunter, Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments: So far we have used it in the backyard. It seems very sturdy apart from the metal eyelet protectors which bent out of shape the first time we used it. I hooked metal carabiners to the eyelets which likely exacerbated the stresses on them. The fabric weave is comfortable but strong. It seems a little bulky for any backpacking use, but would be awesome for car camping.
