By Bokkie from Thousand Oaks, CA on 12/02/2009 Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like the inner layer of the tire, it paid dividents after instlation. I went out for my first ride on my new tires and met up with my riding buds. While waiting for all of my buds to show up one of my buds pointed out a "gash" in my rear tire. Fortunatelty for the added inner layer I never went flat. I question the age of STP products, this is the 2nd time in a month that I have had to return tires although the last return was a lot cheaper version!! Can anyone tell me who to verify tire age? By NYC biker from NYC on 07/23/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Fine if you're running the slick side, but try reversing it and getting it to mount on your rim--the bead does not hold at all. Also the tires shed all over my rims leaving black sooty stuff that impedes brake performance.
By Look at that S-car go from Minneapolis on 04/07/2009 Pros: Easy to Use, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I switched my Micheling Pro Race 2 tires that lasted a long long time for these Vittorias and I really like them. Light and superb rolling and easy to get on and off my easton EA90 SLX rims. Great road feel and a soft ride even with high pressure, so highly recommend these. Only con may be that they are a bit fragile and easily gets cuts. I have about 2000 miles on mine and they are ready to go and replacing with Conti 4000 just to check them out.

Reversible tire? You bet! By Long deKlein from Sonoma County CA on 02/17/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The description does not make clear what I discovered upon receiving my ORKSs--the "dual treads" are not side by side or something like that. This tire is reversible--one side slick, the other with a sort of herringbone pattern. Initial mounting is a little tough due to double tread thickness, and I wonder about how easy it's going to be to find and remove certain kinds of road debris (bits of wire, for example) when fixing flats on the road. Only ridden the slick side so far, which rolls and handles nicely, even in slightly wet conditions. I've only got a few hundred miles on them, so tread life is still an open question, but they seem to be holding up better than a lot of tires I've tried. I'm a big guy so rear tires tend to square off pretty quick, and so far so sign of that from the Vits. Probably helps that they run 140 psi.
