By Adventure Guy from Wilmington, NC on 05/06/2008 Pros: Adjustable Watchband, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Hiking Backpacking, Travel Describe Yourself: Athletic, Outdoor enthusiast, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have actually owned one of these for over 5 yrs now and it has accompanied me on numerous hikes on both sides of the US as well as a number of other outdoor activities. The watch has never let me down and I still use it today. This one was purchased by my daughter for her everyday use after her first ABC watch (different brand) failed her after less than a years use. This watch is a steal at this price, is loaded with useful features and should be the last ABC watch you have to buy for some time.
This is the third one we have bought. By Lee from Sandpoint, ID on 04/30/2008 Describe Yourself: Classic Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this watch in my work, I have to admit I don't take great care of it. This is my third one due to the beating it takes.

Suunto Vector Wrist Top Computer By Dave from Plainfield, N.H. on 04/04/2008 Pros: Accurate, Fun, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Best Uses: Everyday, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, Outdoorsman, Part time farmergardner, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend After 5 years of about the worst pounding any watch should be subjected to, I finally replaced my first Suunto Vector with another. The old one still worked fine, but it looked terrible thanks to farm work, logging, fishing, construction, etc.
All functions work flawlessly. Altimiter, barometer, and compass all work beautifully. Simple to set up and use. Worth every penny.
By outdoor man from Dallas, Texas on 01/22/2008 Pros: Adjustable Watchband, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish Cons: Takes time to set up Describe Yourself: Athletic Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Hiking, camping, skiing, snowshoeing
Knowing my altitude, descent rate, heading, and if the pressure is droping.
Takes time to learn and set up functions, size is a little large than I expected
Decent but impractical watch By Pete from Denver on 12/30/2007 Pros: Good Quality, Reliable, Weather Trends Describe Yourself: Athletic Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a decent, rugged watch that tells the time, has an altimeter, thermometer, compass, and barometer all built in. It's a bit bulky (even on me, and I am over 200 pounds), and I wouldn't imagine it would fit a woman very well. The rubber wristband is too long and wraps around the wrist too far. The thermometer feature is useless, because it will not read an accurate temperature unless you take the watch off and let it acclimate to the environment. Even in 0 degree weather, it read 52 degrees after 5 minutes off my wrist. And, I had to remove my gloves to mess with the annoying wristband. This is impractical in the field. The compass and barometer are the 2 practical features, as the altimeter is based on the barometric pressure (rather than GPS), which means the altimeter reading is going to change with barometric pressure changes. When hiking, climbing, or any lengthy endeavor where you might care about the altitude, the barometer changes constantly, so the altimeter has a 10-20% error. Yes, there is an equation that will calculate the correct altitude, but I'm not going to try and do that in my head every 30 minutes. Why doesn't the watch do it automatically?? That's not good enough for me. Even though this was a great price at [$], I would recommend spending [$] on a GPS unit.

A lot of newer models have a lot more capabilities and useful gadgets, but a lot of the time you really don't use them.
