My first poles, just great! By Michelle from San Francisco, CA on 09/06/2008 Pros: Easy to adjust, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought trekking poles were for only for folks with joint problems. Then my friend lent me a pair on Kilimanjaro, and I've never been the same. Took these on a hike through Yosemite, and even for short jaunts, they make life easier. They're light and sturdy. Wrist straps are easily adjustable. What else could you want?
By Still Standing from Ogden, UT on 07/30/2008 Cons: Collapses Too Easily Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Another manufacturer has a very different locking system on their adjustable poles (reputedly more stable), but these Komperdells just looked so good and light. Well, it wasn't long until in the middle of a stream crossing one collapsed. Maybe it was the water, maybe a very aggressive trout. We'll never know because it's gone gone gone ... [...] This is the first time I've been totally disappointed by two companies in one transaction.A shoddy experience all around.

The red, silver and black color is very attractive.
