By first serve from Accord, NY on 05/15/2008 Cons: boot too high under ankle Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I returned them because the material under the ankle bone was too high, even with orthodics. It rubbed & I was concerned enough not to go ahead with them. Nice looking though, and except for the ankle bone problem, very comfy.
By LT from N. Dallas, Texas on 04/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend This shoe fit the bill for me as I was looking for a lightweight hiking shoe that didn't look too rugged & heavy to wear around town. It's a plus that it's waterproof with Gore-Tex XCR though they haven't gotten wet yet. And they are priced very well. I only do some true hiking about 2 weeks out of the year but I want to wear them more often so the lighter colors work well to wear year-round and are neutral enough to go with all the colors in my wardrobe, lights and darks.
The shoes were comfortable right out of the box. You can definitely feel that the shoes are stable (more so than sneakers) and fit my feet well all around. Note the UK size & US sizing of the shoe; I originally ordered the shoe way too big and STP got the 2nd pair to me quickly, as usual. I wear a size 8 1/2 shoe 95% of the time but wear a 9 in sneakers so I got a size 9 in these shoes and they feel fine. I've been wearing them with medium cushioned socks.
I love these shoes, wear them as often as I can around town and would buy them again.
By mll from Bay Area California on 03/15/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great hiking shoes. Not as cumbersome as full hiking boots, yet get the job done for me. I haven't worn them in the rain yet, but hopefully they are waterproof, too. I plan to take them to Europe next summer when we are hiking. They are very stable when I walk, and the heels fit nicely without extra slack. I wouldn't tramp around Paris in them, but they look okay with casual pants in an informal setting. I like the colors used, pastels that blend with summer clothes. I ordered two pair because I wasn't sure of the size (they were true to size) and a friend saw them and bought the other pair from me.
