Great shoe for not too technical climb. By gexas from Atlanta, GA on 09/02/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Cons: Insole stinks Replace it Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took this shoe as a backup hiking shoe on my 76 mile trip to summit Mt. Whitney in CA. I had some bad blisters on my feet from the extreme climbs of the trip and my 80 lb. pack. I threw these shoes on to give my feet some relief and they worked great. I climbed 2k feet in one day over nasty boulders and rocks without a problem from these shoes. Excellent traction, pretty good support and stiff foot bed, water proof as I crossed numerous streams and they seem to be pretty durable. They were comfortable too and didn't bother my blisters a great deal. I wish I had bought a better insole as the ones that come with them are junk and don't cushion your feet that much. Also, as long as you have some good whicking sock liners your feet breathe pretty well. I found that my feet stayed pretty dry and didn't get that wet from perspiration.
This was my first shot at Raichle as I usually buy Salomon. I was impressed however, if it wasn't for the bad insoles I'd give it 5 stars.

I wore them all day and my feet were a little sore. I am not sure if they would be good for hiking, but they stood up well to the wet weather.

By C-Rock from northern Virginia on 06/24/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Waterproof Best Uses: approach shoe, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Basically a heavy duty waterproof tennis shoe. Nice for a wet approach to the crag. Nothing in the way of ankle support. Wore them in wet weather and they stayed good and dry. Snug fit for the wide foot person, but not too snug that they were uncomfortable.
By Mountain man from Wheat Ridge, CO on 06/22/2008 Pros: Great Traction, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Felt like a sturdy-built shoe, but I tested it in my cool house for an hour before wearing outside and my feet became overly hot. I couldn't imagine wearing them outside on a summer day hike.
