Light, comfy, and definitely waterproof By Kady the hiker from Seattle, WA on 07/07/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathable, Comfortable, Durable Describe Yourself: Athletic, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Slips a bit in the heel area until the footbed is properly broken in. But not nearly as stiff as the G5 shoe at the beginning. I did get one small blister after a 5 mile hike. But my feet stayed perfectly dry on the wet and snow hiking trail we chose.
This shoe is uncomfortable By Arizona Hiking Gal from Prescott, AZ on 05/19/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable Cons: Causes Blisters, Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Feels insubstantial, Not Breathable, Too Stiff, Uncomfortable Best Uses: Backpacking Europe Describe Yourself: Athletic, Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have worn Raichle hiking boots/shoes for nearly 12 years and the brand usually produces excellent footwear. This shoe is described as a hiking shoe; however, the sole is nearly smooth like a running shoe. The shoe feels insubstantial for a hiker (the lack of tread made me slip on hiking trails) and is too uncomfortable for a running shoe. It seems to be designed for backpacking through European cities, not mountains. But, it is not very cushioned either, so you'd need a gel liner for the inside of the shoe. It is clearly waterproof, so the shoe might be great for wet city walking.

By kris from west greenwich, r.i. on 05/08/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathable, Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: lab walking--the best Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: finally, I don't have to buy a men's shoe to be comfortable to wear out walking the puppy of the year! She knows where all the wet spots are (naturally) and loves to go around trees and shrubs to smell all the goings-on. These shoes are capable of handling all her exploring and more!
Raichle G3 Light Hiking shoes By Rhonda the Dog Lover from NSW Australia on 04/12/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathe Well, Comfortable, Durable, Great Cushioning Best Uses: Athletics, Casual Wear Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good for bush walking and on wet days along the lake. I use them as my winter walking shoes.
They are very waterproof (thats why I bought them)
Comfortable and a good width.
They are a big sized shoe so reccomend you order a size smaller than you usually wear.
Never mind I've stuffed them with shoe liners and they are good being big as can wear thicker socks in winter.
