Comments:
These shoes were recommended to me by the members of my hiking/scrambling/climbing group. I got men's so I'd have room for thick socks, because my feet are a bit wide for Women's sizes. They grip well on the rock, and are intended for the trail, too. I only wear them to go scrambling on the rocks or climbing, so I put them on at the car and take them off when I'm done with the adventure. They are excellent for their purpose and I don't expect them to be good for everything.

Functional but not the best boot
By abc from Sac Delta, CA on 04/12/2008
Pros:
Durable, Stable
Cons:
Toe box narrow, Uncomfortable, Uneven sole plate
Best Uses:
Casual Wear
Describe Yourself:
Comfort-oriented
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Width:
Feels true to width
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Toe box is a little narrow so order 1/2 size larger. Bottom Vasque sole is uneven on my pair. The lugs under the ball of my foot feel higher than the rest. They'll probably be fine once a wear those lugs down a little. Also, there are too many lace loops, makes it difficult to tighten and loosen the laces.

I LOVE THESE SHOES WITH NO GORETEX!
By Mike the HikerVerified Reviewer from Gettysburg on 03/05/2008
Pros:
Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Width:
Feels true to width
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I do a lot of hiking with my dogs. These shoes hold up great on the AT with 25 pound pack. Great ankle support and no blister issues. I like the cheaper version WITHOUT the Goretex. My feet stay drier and if it is REALLY wet out there your feet will get wet with or without Goretex. These are a great bargain and you will not be disappointed.
