By Susan from Rhode Island on 05/07/2008 Cons: Couldn't get my foot in. Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: this looks like a really nice, well-made shoe, but:
- it doesn't fit my now 8-medium feet.
- it is engineered in Italy, but made in China.
Please note that I am trying to not buy shoes made in China.
Nice shoe and very comfortable By Mrs Beak from Montesano, Wa on 04/27/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Non-slip sole Best Uses: Cold weather, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am on my feet all day at work and these shoes are so great, no slipping, light weight, they do the job of work boots. I plan on finding some shoes for my husband.
By Avid Hiker from Southern California on 04/13/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Brand, Good styling, Made in Italy Not China Cons: Heavy, Inflexible, Slips at heel, Two full sizes too large Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Zamberlan hiking shoes and boots are some of the best shoes I've ever worn, but this shoe is not their best. The American sizing runs two full sizes too large (see the chart on their website to get your correct size) & the shoe actually feels a bit wide. This shoe feels very inflexible, although I've found the same in couple of other "hiking shoes," so that may be the shoe type. At any rate, I sent it back. Had I kept it, the traction and durability of the shoe would have been good. The construction also seemed to allow for some water repellance, rather than absorption. Again, Zamberlans are really good shoes and I will continue to seek out their products.
By Farm Girl. from Oregon City, OR on 03/24/2008 Best Uses: Cold weather, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Comments: I was planning on using these shoes as my new farm shoes because of the constructions, but I can't afford to be exchanging them all the time to get the perfect fit. So, I am just going to return them this time for a refund. I wished they would of fit. [...]
By consumer from Pittsburgh, PA on 03/21/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I tried 3 pair of these, and found 2 sizes smaller the best fit, however, the heel was too wide and slipped, while the toe box was narrow - otherwise would be a good shoe.
By Amber from MI on 03/05/2008 Pros: Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Never worn outdoors Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The tongue of the shoe was poorly designed. It digs into the front of my ankle bone and is immediately very uncomfortable. The tongue should have been designed to be wider to wrap around the ankle bone a bit. This was the second pair I tried. For the first pair I tried, the right shoe was notably longer than the left and completely slipped off my heal when I walked. There are some definite design and quality control issues with this shoe.
By Day Tripper from Antioch, CA on 03/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great support. I have frequent foot pain, so the shoe must be stable, supportive in order for me to continue being active.
By Meredith from Lynchburg, VA on 02/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading the other comments, I ordered a size smaller than my typical size. I had to send them back and order two sizes smaller. I am an 8 1/2, and a 6 1/2 ended up fitting me. I looked on the Zamberlan website and they had a size chart that actually made sense once I understood it. You have to go by the European size, and then order the US size from that chart. I ordered a size 6 1/2, which on the chart is 39, and my usual size is 8 1/2. Confusing, but I liked the shoe enough to send it back and reorder. I have worn it for a few days now and it has great support. I love the style... and that they are made in Italy...not China like most other shoes. And what a great price. Thanks Sierra.
Great Shoe - Runs VERY Large By donchanka from Cleveland, OH on 02/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a well-made, stable shoe but it runs very large. The stitching and craftsmanship are very high quality. It's well worth the money. I ordered a half size smaller than usual and that was still too large. Order a full size smaller.
