Comments: I usually go with Merrel as it just seems to fit my foot the best but I decided to give the Pingoras a try. Some reviewers don't like the lacing system but I find it works well in allowing me to adjust the shoe for my foot. The heel slips a bit more than I would like but overall I am very pleased with the shoe.

Comments: like many trail shoes, these are slightly narrow for me, but other than that they are a great replacement for the Montrail TRS Comps i always wore (and which are no longer available); compared to the TRS Comps, the Pingora are a little narrower in the toe, and less-ventilated, but they look like they'll last longer and be much more winter-worthy; i need a solid footbed and the Pingoras have it, sturdy but comfortable; the sticky rubber is fine on the trail, but we'll see how it lasts on the street; i hope the toe stretches
