By Melistella from Albuquerque on 03/15/2010 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've had this jacket for two years, couldn't resist another color. This is a fine jacket for moderately cold weather (ca. 40 degrees) on its own,can layer underneath--or use as liner for larger jacket. Very light weight, handles being rolled into a pack beautifully. It is slim in the hips--just unsnap the vents.

By A shopper from Massachusetts from Woburn, MA on 03/07/2010 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a nice jacket with good quality and design. I followed the instruction to buy one size larger and it's too big! I think just use your regular size will be fine.
By beth from bklyn, ny on 02/26/2010 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Very ordinary- got the navy. Neck wasn't high enough for me-I like a lot of coverage there- and sleeves way too long, but that usually happens to me 'cause I'm petite.
Too average for the price.
Worked for me, apple-shaped size12=UK16 By Bayan the schipperke from Portland, OR on 02/13/2010 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a wonderful jacket that looks neat and classic yet, at the same time, casual enough for your daily errands in the neighboorhood.
To my big sigh of relief, Size UK16-US12(the largest available) works just fine with me. I was a little afraid if it would be too small for me, for my previous experiences with Barbour had taught me that they could be quite inconsistent with the fit. For example, I have another Barbour quilted jacket I bought from STP a couple years ago which I love. I ordered a couple of different sizes of the same jacket and only kept the one most fitted me...which turned out to be UK12-US8. And I usually wear US Size 12!
Please note that, although large around chest(38D), I have relatively small hip and thighs. (Apple-Shaped I am.) So, if you're like me and have a smaller lower body, this might be a jacket for you. Well worth a try since it's sooo nice!!!
Maybe having a detatchble hood wouldn't be a bad idea...but again, "the hoodie" would kill the streamlined look of this jacket.
lightweight yet warm and comfortable By michelle the yogini from omaha, NE on 01/23/2010 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: warm, light weight and comfortable - it is great for running errands in cold weather - I am able to move my arms and lift things without being constricted by the jacket
By Transplanted Coloradan from Central NY on 01/13/2010 Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I found the previous reviews helpful and accurate in terms of predicting the strange fit of the jacket. It is tight through the torso and hips. I didn't like the quality/look of the material; it may help others to know that mine came with a tag indicating it was part of Barbour's equestrian line. It indeed looked like it would be good for mucking the stalls, muddy rings, etc.; to me the jacket had the look of a liner rather than an outer jacket.
