By Bald Traveler from New England on 08/02/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Quite comfortable, almost no break in required. A lot more yellow and weird leopard spots on them than shown in the picture. Long laces need to be cut shorter - there is a little flap on the tongue to tuck them, but that is lame.
By Ocho Gritos from Seattle, WA on 06/27/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole Best Uses: Backcountry, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was about to ship these back when the first arrived because they were not snug. I use nylon socks with running shoes and these are ok with thicker socks. My purpose for these shoes was for daily hiking on greenbelt close to work and not continue to ruin my running shoes. By coincidence the day I tried these shoes I got lost and the grip and sole did what I had hoped going up and coming down some steep slopes. Their light weight allowed me to keep pace and get back to work on time from lunch. The fit is the only drawback. I am big guy and these still feel big, but these I will use mostly in colder months with thicker socks. Great looking shoe!
By John the Dad from Birmingham, AL on 06/24/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These haven't left the house yet, but they are very comfortable and look great. They run small so we returned for a bigger size. We got them for hiking but will wear for much more than that.
Good deal on light hikers By Pork Rind from Volcano, Hawaii on 06/16/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Loose in the front, but doesn't seem to shift around at all. Getting used to having lots of room to wiggle my toes around.
By Easy Ed from Honolulu, HI on 06/04/2008 Cons: Not very stable laterally, Thin insole Best Uses: Day hikes, Mall walking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wouldn't recommend these to a friend. I don't know how they were able to sell them at the SRP (Oops, they didn't). I've owned many brands of hiking shoes/boots over the past 40 years. These are the most disappointing. Spend a little more money and get something that feels good.
I would buy this product again and again By mustafa kanmaz from turkey on 06/01/2008 Cons: Sole Wears Out Quickly Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width
By Peak Seeker from Cary, NC on 05/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this shoe. they are very water resistant, but after multiple river crossings the leather gets soaked, heavy and takes a long time to dry (but hey thats leather). i used mine on many mt.bike rides, canyoneering, and day long hikes. comfortable out of the box, no real break in. i am now going to buy the same shoe with XTC Gore-Tex. if i only had one pair of shoes this would be it.
