By thesilverrush from Boston, MA on 08/04/2008 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, High Quality Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Career, Classic Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this product as a case for my new digital SLR camera.[...] I could not be happier with the quality of the product. It is very secure and fits my camera perfectly. I am not likely to purchase or carry additional lenses around - in which case this product would be too small. So, for me -this was a great purchase and I couldn't be happier.
Straight and to the Point By Ansel Adams I ain't from Harrisburg PA on 07/29/2008 Pros: Easy To Carry, High Quality Best Uses: On Trail Nature Photo Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for a Canon XT then I upgraded cameras to a 20D. The 20D fills the bag when my 28mm to 300mm lens is attached (about 2.5 to 3" long). When my 75mm to 300mm lens is on the camera (about 4" to 5" long) it does not fit in the Beacon. I find that getting the camera out of the Beacon takes a little to long if your looking to shoot spontaneously at bugs, birds or other wildlife while hiking. I tend to keep the lid shut with the buckle only and forgo the zipper while on trail.
By raven from Brightwood, Oregon on 07/20/2008 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, High Quality Best Uses: Family Trips, Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Career, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend The smaller case is more convenient when hiking.
Easy access.
A longer shoulder strap would be nice -- or if clips were added, shoulder straps could be interchanged.
By jim the runner from mid-mich on 07/20/2008 Cons: Small Capacity, Uncomfortable strap, Unstable, Unusual closure Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend + the closure has zippers with a plastic clip which are difficult to use (esp. one handed)
+ the case itself does not stand with opening facing up -- it is a triangular shape and tips over
+ the strap is a bit small (short) and uncomfortable on the shoulder
+ not enough room for SLR plus lens, but too much room for SLR alone (e.g. Nikon)
+ materials of construction and seams look to be of good quality, and some padding is built into the case.
+ overall I found it a bit awkward to use, but maybe will figure out a better method or go back to my large case. this was purchased to carry the camera without the entire bag of accessories and lenses for short outings.
By Ian from Bloomfield, IN on 07/07/2008 Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wish they made this case just 1 inch deeper since when I tried my camera with the lens it is tight ,but the bag is very well made, except fot the plastic shoulder harness attachments.
By C-T-Walker from LONDON,ENGLAND on 06/20/2008 Pros: Good Capacity, High Quality Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A durable well designed small(ish) but bulky shaped pack with helpful soft lining and adjustable dividers in main section. Many useful pouch pockets and excellent grippy grab handle. But due to lack of loops / mount for belt not quickly accessible. Between a shoulder bag and belt pouch.
