North Face quality but cut is narrow By pbt from James Island, South Carolina on 07/08/2008 Pros: Durable, great colors, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Cut too narrow, Poor Fit Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sun protection, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this shirt to use for traveling in a hot climate, to protect me from the sun. I usually wear a small or medium. I ordered a medium but the fit was too tight in the body and in the sleeves (I could not comfortably roll the sleeves up), so I returned it for a large, which fits me but is none too large. I think the shirt is too narrowly cut for an outdoor shirt which is to be used for hiking, travel, and active pursuits. I have not actually used the shirt yet so do not know if it is breathable or how it will wash. I love the color (ice blue), the feel of the fabric (rip-stop nylon) and the styling of the shirt. It just needs to be cut a little larger to be true to size.

The fabric is soft and comfortable and I especially like the tailored look.
Rugged material and nicely tailored By V from Silverthorne,Co on 06/22/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Shirt is great quality. Bought it for hiking. Kept it anyway even though sleeves slightly short. If you want a roomy shirt, buy larger size.
By Casual garb Brit from Houston on 05/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Washes Easily Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a slim 5'6" and normally a size 4 so I ordered the light blue in small and it fits perfectly, though the color I would call more like a sea-foam, which I really like. I don't often wear shirts, prefering Ts, but this has such a flattering cut it's a keeper, especially at STP's price. The sun protection factor is another plus here in Houston.
Sun protection with a great fit By JdCana from Canada on 04/21/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Seams are a bit weak Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The fit is flattering for an "outdoor" sun-protective ls shirt. Seams are sloppy in places. Warning, ripstop fabric looks a bit like plaid.

It keeps the sun off and I like the fit.
Really nice, a little snug By Paula from Boulder, Colorado on 02/13/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Washes Easily Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shirt is gorgeous and well made, as one might expect from North Face. It is a very tailored fit. I am usually a 10 (36C) and the medium barely fits through the middle and shoulders -- probably OK for sexy urban wear, but a little snug for travel and outdoors. Love the shirt though, so I am sending it back for a size large.
