By Andy from Salem VA on 09/29/2008 Cons: Expensive, Low Quality Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The leather was really thin and one of the speed lace rings almost pulled clear through the leather. Maybe I just got a bad pair, but they seemed like a poorly made boot considering the price.
By J.J. from b-town from Indiana on 07/15/2008 Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I shouldn't have tried them out on a 6 hour day.
My feet are killing me!
Width not consistent with other Montrail By Tunacan from Chesapeake, VA on 03/09/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Comments: I am a big fan of the Montrail Torre GTX and the Montrail Traverse which both fit the same in identical sizes. So, I figured that the Blue Ridge would fall in line with the other two. However, the Blue Ridge was considerably more narrow than its two contemporaries. On a positive note: Sierra Trading Post made returning and exchanging this product easier than any company that I have dealt with so far.
By Skibum from Grand Canyon on 03/08/2008 Pros: Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Not bad looking if you like Nubuck. Padding is adequate, sole is sufficiently knobby.
Problems are that the boot upper seems cut a little short in the instep, not good for those of us with high insteps. Also, width across the forefoot is disturbingly narrow, freakish even. It fits OK in length, true to size, but if your feet are even average width...look elsewhere.
By Hiker Dude from Portland, OR on 02/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Cons: Surprising narrow, Top padding very thick Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Comments: good support; nice looks; but would not purchase at full retail price.
