Light weight, but can feel rocks under sole. Good for dirt trails, stay off the sharp high mountain rocks though. Good looks and style.

Comments:
Exactly what I was looking for. They're not heavyweight backpacking boots, and I wasn't looking for those. These are mid-weight hiking shoes that ought to be comfortable for many miles with a fishing vest or a daypack on my back. I can't believe how light they are, about the same as my running shoes.

Nice shoe but too long
By anonymous from BC, CA on 07/28/2008
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Bottom Line:
Comments:
I own other Columbia shoes and didn't expect a difference in size yet these felt a half size too long. The insole is the same, but the shoe itself is roomier in legnth. Too bad because it was a great price.

Comments:
I got these for my husband, who wears a 13 1/2, a size "not found in nature", as he puts it. I got him a 14 and he found them to be a half size large even with thick wool socks; he likes them for everyday use and he'll wear them to work, etc., but he knew he'd get bad blisters on his heels if he wore them for the somewhat difficult hike we wanted to take. I'd suggest ordering half a size down or even a full size. Otherwise, he finds them quite comfortable.

I've only worn these around the house so far but they do not feel like they will need a breaking in period. Very comfortable and I think they are a great value. Purchased these boots based on others recommendations. I wear a Women's 9 but bought a Men's 7.5 and they fit great.
