Good for dirt trails, stay off the sharp high mountain rocks though. Good looks and style.

Very Comfortable Yet Lightweight By Avid Outdoorsman from Tampa, FL on 07/31/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Exactly what I was looking for. They're not heavyweight backpacking boots, and I wasn't looking for those. These are mid-weight hiking shoes that ought to be comfortable for many miles with a fishing vest or a daypack on my back. I can't believe how light they are, about the same as my running shoes.

By anonymous from BC, CA on 07/28/2008 Sizing: Feels half size too small Comments: I own other Columbia shoes and didn't expect a difference in size yet these felt a half size too long. The insole is the same, but the shoe itself is roomier in legnth. Too bad because it was a great price.
By KFC from Orchard Park, NY on 07/25/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these for my husband, who wears a 13 1/2, a size "not found in nature", as he puts it. I got him a 14 and he found them to be a half size large even with thick wool socks; he likes them for everyday use and he'll wear them to work, etc., but he knew he'd get bad blisters on his heels if he wore them for the somewhat difficult hike we wanted to take. I'd suggest ordering half a size down or even a full size. Otherwise, he finds them quite comfortable.

Very comfortable and I think they are a great value. Purchased these boots based on others recommendations. I wear a Women's 9 but bought a Men's 7.5 and they fit great.
Okay shoe, but quality is not great By Outdoor guy from Princeton, MA on 07/22/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Comments: I had to bring back the first one I bought because of the stitching. The replacement pair did a bit better, but it still did not wear up well
