Comments: These would have to be the best boots I have had in 30 years, absolutely no break in time, felt extremely well fitted to my foot size, 10, 2e width. I truly should have bought two pairs straight away, if only I had known how good they were.

Comments: 3rd time Hiking Yosemite. 3 pairs of boots later I Finally found a boot built for the job. Rugged boot yet took no time to break in. Traction was great on all surfaces wet and dry. Friends using various other boots had trouble with grip on polished and wet rocks. I had no problem. Inside remained dry stepping through 2 inch deep puddles, waterfall spray and random snow piles. Exterior of boot handled wear well. No problem with slippage hiking Half Dome or navigating wet bolders on bridalvail or Yosemite Falls. I only used for day hikes but I don't see why this boot couldn't handle multi-day hikes with moderate moisture. I have to use additional arch supports with all my shoes. Removable inserts make fitting any arch support easy.

Comments: The shipping weight and height suggested a mid-weight boot. Other mid-weights I've owned envelop the foot more soundly. "Around the place" these are fine and are growing on me. Not sure if I would take them out for rough terrain "scrambling".

Comments: I wore these boots on about a 5 mile hike in some pretty rugged terrain at the Devil's Den state park in NW Arkansas. I used my own inserts since I have high arches. The only thing I was worried about was that the shoelace hooks are plastic and not metal. They seemed to hold up fine though for their first trip. As far as how long they will last, time will tell. I was very satisfied with the soles. I did not lose traction at all. Overall, I am very satisfied with these boots so far.
