Absolutely the best biners you can buy! By ROPEGUNZ from Ohio on 07/16/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy, High quality, Simple, Smooth Cons: Not made in ovals trad Best Uses: Best for gear no catch, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor, sport climbing, Sprint Climbs Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ran across the Simond Spyder biners on [...]5 or 6 years ago when I was getting some gear for a trip out to J-Tree and Yosemite. They were just some (slightly used) extra's in a large lot of big Cams. At the time most of my non-oval biners were petzl spirits because I can't stand fighting to get biners off in tricky situations (when the grooves on reg biners want to catch on everything). The first time I used them I couldn't believe they weren't the hottest selling biners on the market. I let my climing buddies try them and they all sneak off with them when they get a chance... ;o)They are absolutely incredible! Even spirits are a pain for egress compared to these things. they are simply incredible - guarantee if you try them you will love 'em. Finding them was my issue, and I just bought 25 yes that's right 25 of these draws because Sierra's price on these is so incredible.
By Bogo from Minnesota on 06/30/2008 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm not a climber, but will be using this product as an improvement to a tree-stand safety harness for deer hunting.
It's very well made, extremely strong and should serve my purpose well.
A solid draw and good price. By climbin cody from Denver, CO on 06/27/2008 Pros: Easy clip and unclip, Key lock design, Lightweight Best Uses: Whenever you have rope Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: You just can not find a draw this good for this price anywhere else. I have looked. My rack also has some more expensive BD draws which the Simonds out perform in clipping and cleaning.
By meko from Atlanta on 05/31/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Comments: Great draw that made clipping and upclipping a breeze.
Easiest clipping quickdraw out there By K_climber from New Hampshire on 05/21/2008 Pros: Egronomic, Smooth operation Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These notchless carabiners clip faster and smoother than any other out there. This is a great deal on one of the best quickdraw sets you can buy. The design of the biner allows you to clip bolts in one smooth motion instead of the in-and-down movement necessary with other (even keylock) biners. Perhaps it's a minor benefit, but they do go in faster and easier on crux clips. Cleaning overhanging routes is also significantly easier with this design as they never catch on the bolt hangers. I prefer a wiregate for the rope-end biner, but overall, this is a great quickdraw.
By will from denver on 04/21/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These would be a great deal, but they didn't come with rubber sleeves for the bent gate biner, so they slide all over the bloody place.
By Dave's kid from SLC, UT on 04/17/2008 Describe Yourself: Competitive Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Simond is a classic. Could never afford them in years past. The carabiners are well constructed and designed with the 'no catch' nose and clean gate action.
Snag free and smooth action By Grey Owl from Alberta on 04/14/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great stuff, perfect for sport climbing. Add a few draws with longer runners and you've got a great rack at an excellent price.
