Comments:
I used this as a bear bag for a backpacking trip in the Pacific NW. The weather was rainy (surprise) but the bag kept our food dry while hanging overnight. 25L capacity holds a surprising amount. And the attached para-cord is plenty long and strong. Highly recommended- [...]

Buy This Bag!
By Joe-BobVerified Purchaser from Clarkston, MI on 08/12/2008
Pros:
Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Paddling
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I used two of these bags on a canoe trip in Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario. Very tough bag can handle as much weight as your hands can take, hoisting with the small diameter cord. The attached throw-bag is handy, as you are never searching for the hang rope. The low-friction material also slides easily into larger dry bags. The compression valve is a great feature, also.

Quality AND Versatility, Wow
By Backpacking FlyfishermanVerified Purchaser from Northern California on 06/03/2008
Pros:
Good Capacity, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Waterproof
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Adventure Racing, Backpacking
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Haven't used it yet, but the material is of great quality. A little bulky around the head, but anything can be shoved into a big enough pack. It's amazing that the quality matches the versatility. Great price for a bear bag. It's heavier than the ~$80 ultralight bear bags, but on the other hand it's waterproof, has a vacuum sealing mechanism of sorts, and is solid as a rock. A great starter bear bag for backpacking, and at a great price. Glad I bought it.

Loved it so much, I bought a second
By crodge2kVerified Purchaser from Cambridge, MA on 05/15/2008
Pros:
Strong Material, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Camping, Paddling
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Took this canoe camping for 6 nights in Algonquin Provincial Park and used it for bear bagging our food (enough capacity for about 4 days food for 2 people with a mix of dehydrated and freeze dried food). I couldn't have been more pleased. Compared to hanging the portage pack hanging this was a snap. The throw rope doesn't have much stretch, so when you pull it up in place it stays put. The bag for the rope is convenient, and the bag itself, being waterproof and airtight, really protected our food. When I saw this on sale in the catalog I snapped up a second one to store the stove and pots and pans in next time so I won't have to hang a pack at all.

Just used this on a 4 day canoe camping trip. It was just the right size, and the attached hanging line with throw bag was very handy- very easy to insert a small rock for weight.
