This will work for that, but for practicing it's a bit klutzy. The blade pocket is large - no problem getting a big blade in, if you can make it past the not-quite-as-large throat of the blade pocket. With a small blade - Sorry, no way to cinch it down. The pressure needed to blow air past the valve is fairly high as well...so it probably won't leak, eh? But it would be a bit of a pain trying to blow it up fast while enjoying a cold seawater bath. Overall - eh, it's OK.
