Did exactly what I bought it for! By Marty from Akron,Oh on 08/20/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this shelter to use on Assateague National Seashore to protect us on the beach. Although getting it set up on a very windy day was a bit tough, once it was secured with sand in the corner pockets (handy!)and guyed off, it withstood the powerful Atlantic winds. Thrilled with it's function and would buy it again as well as recommend it to others. Cool!
By Colleens Dad from Sea Isle City on 08/16/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Purchased to block the sun from the baby on the beach. Difficult to set up, my wife could absolutely not do it by herself. One of the poles ripped through the fabric while setting up only the third time. Withstood breezes and light wind without staking after set up, but a struggle to put up and take down in any wind. It really did look like a good idea, but had to purchase another product while vacationing.
By Phil from California on 08/16/2008 Pros: Lighter than an Easy Up, Lightweight, Sturdy Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Thsi is a nice alternative to the heavy and bulky easy ups at the beach, however when side by side the Easy Up folks were sitting about 5 minutes before me. The poles and the slots are the delay in set up.
I'm glad I bought this product By Beach Goer from Georgetown, KY on 08/11/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Sturdy Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Happy with purchase.
GREAT shade on the BEACH! By JJ from Winston-Salem, NC on 08/11/2008 Pros: Beach wind proof, Sturdy, Worth the set up time Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Set up in the early AM and left it up all day on the beach. Shade covered our two chairs and enough space for the kids to sit on the sand and play. "Bottomless floor" was a plus because no sand got trapped having to be shaken out! High ceiling interior to stand inside. Sand pockets are great to hold it in place. Heavy wind on one day almost took the shelter with it. We dug down about 6 inches, pressed in the guy rope pegs at an angle toward the shelter then refilled the holes with damp sand. After that, the shelter did not move! Won't do the beach w/o this again!
This is perfect functional shade! By Nana from Minneapolis, MN on 08/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, More coverage from sun, Sturdy Best Uses: Any time you need shade, Beach, Car Camping, Less then a mile trek, Picnics Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We bought two for our son's first birthday. It sets-up like the first time you use a high quality tent (its tight). Once it is up it is not coming down. It will blow away for miles before it will break so Tie It Down! Good thing it comes with both tie downs, a way to facett it attached with nylon straps and clips, and sand bags. We put it over a full size picnic table and had plenty of room to stand under it and walk around the table. The wide tri-pod area provides shade at any angle. This was perfect, light, and durable.

By Rob from Burlington, VT on 08/03/2008 Pros: Roomy for two, Sturdy Cons: Difficult To Setup, Heavy Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Comments: I read previous reviews about this product, so I was fully prepared to struggle with setting up this shelter for the first time. And, yeah, it wasn't easy - I wouldn't recommend trying to set this up by oneself. Once it's up, though, it's a nice shelter with plenty of space for two. We had a bunch of rain the first time we took this out for a spin, and while it's not 100% waterproof, it's definitely water resistant enough to keep our stuff dry.
By Buck-o-Nine Dad from Burbank, CA on 07/31/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend We bought the shade for soccer tournaments but quickly used it as our camping and beach shade. I takes a little patience the first time to set up but then is a snap.
You have to weight or stake it as it will catch the wind. We bought a second shade we used it so much.
