Comments:
I really like this pack. I tried on a Z-pack, but for the money this pack is great. I am glad I got the G-pack instead. It is easy to adjust it while wearing, so when my back gets sore I can shift the weight from my hips to my shoulders, and vice versa. I carried 25 or 30 lbs in it on my last overnight and it carried really well. I hardly noticed it when scrambling up very difficult terrain. I hike 16 miles of the AT in New Hampshire with it in the pouring rain and the darn thing shed water fine. My stuff inside was dry. I also like taking it on day hikes because it cinches down so small with all the compression straps when its not full. A good backpack.

Backpacking

Comments:
Have only used on one very short trip to 2nd beach near Lapush in Olympic NP. Because of short distance (less than a mile!), I violated my usual minimalist rules. (wine bottles are heavy!) 30 lbs. is probably the limit for this pack, with my goal 22 lbs. for longer trips. Impressed with the adjustment feature to maximize fit. Lots of tie-downs and attention to detail in this design.

Comments:
Well, I loved this pack the first times I used it because it`s very lightweight and very comfortable. But, after about 20-30 days in the mountain both of the shoulder straps have started to come off - and it`s useless. I have not been carrying any extreme loads. If Gregory have improved quality this is a very good pack. If not, I wouldn`t touch it. Other than that it should be mentioned that the fabric is very thin, so beware of touching rocks. I also find the clips a bit awkward to handle with cold/numb hands, so it`s not perfect for use in winter.

Comments:
I bought this as a daypack, but it is actually a good weekend pack. Typical Gregory pack features which are the best out there in my opinion. This is my second Gregory pack, love them! It is a simple top loading pack, a few external mesh elastic storage areas make for great areas to stuff a few things. Top lid has a zippered pocket which is handy for putting some loose items.

Light & comfy
By C-T-WalkerVerified Reviewer from LONDON,ENGLAND on 04/23/2008
Pros:
Durable, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Outer net pockets, Strap adjust system
Cons:
Noisey material
Best Uses:
Airline Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Short Travel, Weekend Trips
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Very lightweight but durable pack with useful external pockets and attachment points. Effective lower shoulder strap adjustment system reduces strain compared to others. Main bag smooth fabric sheds water better than others but emits plastic coat like noise when moved.

The first trip I took this pack on, we hiked 17 miles through southwest Georgia in early April. It easily held a 1-man tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, ground tarp, 3 days worth of food, rain jacket, and additional odds and ends. About 5 miles of that was hiked in light to moderate rainfall, and the only part that was even moist inside the pack was around the small area where the logo is stitched on the top cover. The straps do a great job of compressing the pack to minimalize bulk, and there is plenty of exterior storage, although I do wish there were more small compartments rather than a few large ones. Weight is distributed very well across the lumbar section. Shoulder pads could maybe use a little more padding, but otherwise it is very comfortable. I'm 6'1", and the size large I ordered fit great.

I use it everyday at work so it has to be durable. It's the best fitting pack that I have ever owned. Finally!! A pack that fits. I love all the exterior storage pockets.
