Feels true to size
Pros:
Breathable, Comfortable, Excellent soles for sand
Cons:
Lower heel a little tight
Best Uses:
Weekend woods workboot
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments: I bought these for working in Florida woodlands on the weekends. Dragging brush, cutting dead trees, driving tractors, etc. I needed light, comfortable, tough boots whose soles wouldn't collect dirt and sand, but had good traction. I insisted on simple lacing so the boots would be easy on and off, but stay tight and provide ankle protection and resist debris slipping into the boot while working all day. I don't know how long they'll last, but they look like they could last years. Lots of stitching that could fail, though. I guess they were designed with some styling in mind for the city types. The lower heel seemed tight enough to be abrasive when first put on, but within the first few minutes, the heel seemed fine. Good socks would help - mine were not - they will be next weekend. But, I then worked for hours without even noticing they were on my feet - the best indicator of a well designed boot for my application.
