By ULLR - Ski God from Philly on 08/29/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Great All Around Pack, Strong Zippers Best Uses: Airline Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend This pack is fantastic! It would be great for summer camping or backpacking and great for backcountry trekking with the ability to carry skis or a board on it. It is very roomy, but would need to be a bit bigger for an extended multi-night hiking trip, sturdy, comfortable and can keep a couple water bottles handy for you.
If you want a great all-around pack that you can take anywhere and carry a fair amount of gear with comfort, snap up one of these before they are gone!

By XANDER from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 05/12/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Expandable front pocket, Good attachment points, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Lot of pockets, Strong Zippers Best Uses: Airline Travel, Backpacking, Camping, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For sure, this is a good backpack and for about [$] was one of the best deals i ever got on a good gear such as this one... The pack feels amazing and the internal alumiium structure is light and tight. Lot of adjustments can be done. I bought the large size and loved it (i´m 6 feet high). The only thing that could be better is some better attachment to the top cover on it (like a ziper) and velcro to the front pocket. Without it the top removable cover keeps on falling down when the pack is not full and that will make it fill with snow on the closures when actually on the slopes. Except for that closure problems that i foud the pack is perfect! Really good product and the cover (lid) problem is only realized when the pack is not full.
By Ride the East from The East Coast on 04/28/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Strong Zippers Best Uses: Backpacking, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is an excellent choice for overnight backcountry ski/snowboard tours. Held my board solidly while climbing, likewise with my ice axe for the ride down. The axe doesn't move the slightest while in the tool tube. I really liked the zippered expander sleeve in the center of the pack, perfect for my avalanche gear. Plenty of room for overnight gear and compresses down nicely for day pack use. Although the pack is a little on the heavy side for a day pack, it's negligible. The construction and materials are bomber! A key point for mountaineering equipment. If you're in the market for just one pack to do it all DEFINITELY consider this one.
By Board to Death from Maryland on 04/28/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Strong Zippers Best Uses: backcountry ski trips, Backpacking, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this pack primarily for backcountry snowboarding. The 45 seems to be the perfect size for 1-2 nights in the backcountry. Although 2 nights might be pushing it. I'm really happy with this pack, it's built with bomber materials, waterproof, and comfortable. I really liked the fact that the pack compresses down so small, making a great(although a bit heavy as far as daypacks go)daypack to yo-yo with. The white lining is also a nice feature,it really helps to brighten the interior of the pack. The ice tool tubes worked great with no movement whatsoever of my ice axe while riding my board. I really can't say enough about this pack, it has served me well. If ski mountaineering is your thing this is your pack.

By 313HTPDET from DETROIT!!! on 01/05/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Lightweight Best Uses: Extended Hikes, Heavy Loads, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've tried for quite some time to find the perfect backpack for my needs, one that also fits my frame (6'2" tall, about 215lbs) and this one is it! i went through the jansport indio and the lowe alpine cholatse 45 and although both were of good quality & loaded with features, the mountainsmith sting 45 has a better all around fit. Plenty of storage room and enough straps to keep the pack tight to your body. I like that the top is removable and doubles as a fast ascent pack. Comfortable shoulder and waist straps, vertical snowboard carry capability. Thanks Sierra Trading Post for putting up with this picky customer [...] GET OUT THERE AND ENJOY LIFE!
