very well made. tough and light By basecamp Gangtoc from Northeast on 04/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Light weight, Tough fabric, Versatile, Well placed pockets Best Uses: Backpacking, Casual Work Days, Hiking camping canoeing, On The Weekend Describe Yourself: Backpacker, Fly Fisherman, Mountain biker Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend This is a very well made pair of pants thats gear towards backpacking and hiking. The fabric and desing is exceptional. I like the fabric more than any of my hiking/backpacking pants. I have used Cloudveil, REI, EMS, and North Face pants before, but none comes close to this pants in terms of wicking capacity, durability, and function. The fabric itself wicks well and the pants has hidden venting points at strategic places.
These pants are very well designed, they are packed with function without looking dorky.
They also handle a very wide temperature range comfortably. I used them during the winter over an expedition weight underwear (temps 30-20ºF) I have also used them in 80ºF temps without any discomfort.
The pants also dry quickly. I have washed them in Nickwax water repellent solution to make the water repellent. Now, these pants fends off water/light rain very well. They also provide good wind resistance.
In short, these are a great pair of pants for outdoors usage. I bought 3 pairs so that I can take advantage of their great comfort and function for a long time.
